Before founding The Edge, Duc Luu worked in the educational arena as a Test Prep Instructor, SAT coordinator, and Principal Consultant, University Admissions for Kaplan Educational Centers USA and Hong Kong, respectively. He then joined The Princeton Review Hong Kong where in his role as Master Trainer, Duc was responsible for teacher training and test prep curriculum. He was instrumental in the training of new teachers for the opening of The Princeton Review Mumbai.

David Tian was born in Canada and grew up in the United States, where he received a B.A. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago. Later on, he received an M.A. in Asian Studies from Georgetown University and an M.A. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University. Now, David is undertaking an MCIT (Master of Computer and Information Technology) graduate program at an Ivy League university, namely the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).

After graduating from Johns Hopkins, David moved to South Korea. With around nine years of experience in academic tutoring and admissions consulting, David has helped students gain admissions to many top universities. Born in Hong Kong and moved to New York at 12, Gary entered the Bronx High School of Science, a public magnet school, through the Specialized High School Admissions Test. Later, Gary enrolled at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with a Deans Scholarship and graduated magna cum laude in Economics and East Asia Language and Culture.

As an undergraduate, Gary has worked at various community organizations for Asian Americans in New York and Los Angeles during his summers and developed an interest in international education during his exchange at Sophia University in Tokyo. Upon finishing a double Master’s Degree in Economics and International Relations at the University College London and The Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Gary returned to Hong Kong, where he has since worked with hundreds of students and families as a seasoned veteran with eight years of experience.

Jonathan Ault received his B.A. in English and History from Washington & Lee University, a top-ten liberal arts school in the U.S., which he attended on a full academic scholarship. While there, he received every award available from the school’s English department. He also spent a semester studying European History at the University of Copenhagen and English Literature at Oxford. He graduated Magna cum Laude, with the highest honors in English (4.0 GPA in English). After that, he worked as a manager at a language school in New York City and a manager at an English school in Seoul, and taught English Literature and History in Tianjin and Shenzhen; during that period he worked with students from a wide range of age and English level, especially high school students and adults. He has worked as an admissions advisor in Shenzhen for four years. During that time, he worked closely with high school students and middle school students, as well as their parents, to help them enter their top-choice universities, high schools, and summer programs. His main focus has been on helping students with their essays, interviews, and test preparation for Ivy League schools, with great success; he has also worked closely with university officials to learn what their priorities are when choosing students for their programs and to create new opportunities for his students. His chief skills are excellent communication skills with students, parents, and university officials, as well as a keen sense of what top schools look for in students, especially in the areas of essay-writing and interviews.

John has been a private tutor for many years in the UK and has worked with students from all over the world, including Hong Kong, China & Singapore. In addition to his work as a tutor, John is also a supervisor for first-year medical students at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge. He also pioneered a new teaching scheme for his students to better understand how the core science they learn is related to clinical medicine.

John is deeply passionate about his subject and relishes the opportunity to share this passion with interested students. He has researched a diverse array of topics ranging from fetal biology to cardiovascular physiology. John has been awarded 16 scholarships & awards since joining Cambridge University for both research and excellent academic performance. He has received a Bachelor’s Degree (First Class) in Medical Sciences & Physiology and has regularly been in the top 10% of students. He has presented his work at an international conference and is currently working with the heart transplantation team to improve the service delivered there.

Natasha Musto received her B.A. and M.A. in English Literature and Language from the University of Oxford and earned multiple awards for her academic excellence. Natasha spent years as an Admissions Consultant for The Oxford Access Project, a charity that helps underprivileged students apply to Oxbridge. In this position, she developed a keen understanding of Oxbridge entry procedures and requirements, and how best to prepare students to meet their high expectations. She broadened her cross-cultural teaching experience as an Educational Development Worker in South Africa and Nepal with The Oxford Development Abroad Agency.

Regina graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science, Law course (LL.B.) and obtained a Masters in Business Law (LL.M.) from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand whilst working in Securities and Business law.

Prior to admission to the university, Regina went to the Chinese International School in Hong Kong and Bangkok Patana School in Thailand where she undertook the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Program.

As the admissions process becomes increasingly complicated and competitive, it is crucial that students are prepared for both the standardised admissions test and are able to distinguish themselves with their unique applications. Regina has personal experience with the UK law standardised test (LNAT) and has taught LNAT courses as well as Economics and Business.
